Musical entertainment and wild animals will greet you at this annual fundraiser. Purchase your tickets now for the Sedgwick County Zoo annual fundraising event, Zoobilee. Roam the wilds of the Zoo, including The Downing Gorilla Forest, Cessna Penguin Cove and Slawson Family Tiger Trek on Saturday, September 12 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight. Zoobilee is Sedgwick County Zoo’s largest annual fundraising effort. Your donation to this effort helps support the daily operations at the Zoo. The cost of feeding 2,500 animal residents, maintaining buildings and grounds, and making needed infrastructure repairs is ongoing. Your investment will help maintain the Zoo now and for future generations.
Zoobilee patrons can spend the evening sampling food and drink, dancing under the stars and bidding on great silent and live auction items. Wichita’s finest food and beverage establishments will be serving samples of their best dishes and drinks, including old favorites and exotic new delicacies. Wichita’s eateries put out their best for Zoobilee guests.
In addition to the food and libation, there will be a variety of bands playing throughout the Zoo. Patrons will also be able to stop by the silent auction tent to bid on incredible items. An exciting live auction kicks off at 8:30 p.m. Zoobilee-goers will be able to bid on the honorary adoption of Zoo animals. After the auction, patrons can spend the rest of the night dancing to the sounds of Lisa Haley & the Zydekats! Lisa’s boundless energy and blue violin Louie have made her an international ambassador of Americana, Cajun and Zydeco.
Zoobilee is a great way to support your Sedgwick County Zoo. One of the most successful fundraisers of its kind, Zoobilee raises funds that help keep Zoo admission prices affordable. As part of the Zoo’s commitment to conservation, a portion of this year’s funds will also go to support Save the Tiger Fund conservation initiatives. Tickets for Zoobilee are $125 and should be purchased in advance. Don’t delay, order your tickets today and make plans to attend. Tickets can be purchased at the Zoo Entrance, by phone or online at www.scz.org. Please remember that the Zoo is closed all day on September 12 for party preparations.
